Taiki has to be one of my favourites - as the fantastic staff would know by the amount of times I've been there to dine and get take away! (I'm not even a local :)) Yoshi-san is a wonderful chef, and he's supported by very friendly and efficient staff. It goes without saying that the food is consistently good, and they do very well in striving to provide the freshest ingredients. The futomaki is my ultimate favourite. It's a must try! I'm a big fan. Well done, Taiki. Keep up the good work.

I have just found the best sashimi chef outside of Japan. I am so impressed with this place. Not only the sashimi was fresh and cut to perfection but the service was awesome. 5/5 stars from me.

This lovely restaurant is one of our favourite Japanese Restaurants without a doubt. The food is wonderful and they also catered to my "coeliac" gluten problem. The entree that I had was the soft shell crab and without a doubt it was the most delicious food I had ever experienced. We will be back soon!

Lane Cove is a beautiful leafy village in the lower North Shore just 10 kilometers from downtown Sydney, yet surrounded by trees, rivers, and the National Park. TAIKI was opened in the autumn of the Sydney Olympic year 2000, in a lively street of this lovely suburb.

TAIKI means “Big Tree” in Japanese. It came from the thought of people gathering under one big tree with family and friends to enjoy our authentic Japanese food.

Yoshiki, the owner and chef, began his journey of traditional and modern Japanese food at the famous SERYNA in Shinjuku, Tokyo. From the year of 1980, Yoshiki has wide-ranging experience of all different styled Japanese cuisines from Nabe (Hot Pots), Tempura, Teppanyaki to Sushi and Sashimi.
He combined his knowledge of assorted kinds of food, his unique skills and good taste buds to create his own recipes and menus of the dishes that he would like everyone to try and enjoy.

Since our opening, many Japanese clients and local Japanese
food fans supported us to grow this bountiful tree, where they enjoy themselves by exchanging conversation with chef across the sushi counter, as well as indulge themselves in the perfect match of the finest seafood, meats, sakes and wines.

We are looking forward to welcoming you here in TAIKI.
